
How Wireless Internet
compared to cable or DSL?
Wireless, Cable, and DSL are all forms of high-speed broadband
but that's about the only thing they have in common. Wireless
is able to reach people that cable or DSL is not willing to
make available.
The GlobalNet offers several different broadband packages..
Will I ever get a busy signal?
Not with Wireless Internet access. Wireless Internet doesn't
use phones lines. Your antenna will be receiving the signal
from any one of our towers.
What do I need for Wireless Internet?
There are a few software requirements that are recommended:
- Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP or Linux.
- 64mb of Ram on Windows 98 SE and ME, 128mb of Ram on Windows
2000 or XP.
- 20mb hard drive space available for installation.
- Cd-Rom drive.
- VGA or SVGA display 800 x 600.
Antenna must have unobstructed line of sight to one of our towers.
locations over 10 miles may require an amp antenna.
How do I find out if I'm a candidate
for Wireless Internet?
The first thing you would need is a site survey. You can call
The GlobalNet office at (920) 884-7670 and schedule a site survey
or submit the site
survey online . After it is determine that your location
has line of sight to one of our towers a representative will
notify you to schedule the installation. Installations are schedule
7-10days in advance.
Can I still get Wireless Internet if
I rent or lease?
Yes, you would need to get permission from the property owner
before the installation can take place.
Do I need to be home for the installation
and how long would it take?
Yes, the technician will need someone to be home during the
installation. The entire installation usually takes 1-3 hours
depending on circumstance.
